In 1960, professional master Arnold McLean Sr. envisioned an idyllic, all-natural golf course that would provide a fair challenge for any golfer. In choosing the developing city of Lorraine, Arnold Sr. designed his course with great diligence and care.
Arnold McLean Sr. won many Canadian tournaments during his illustrious career. He became a member of the Loyal Order of Golf Legends and was president of the Professional Golfers’ Association of Canada and the Association des professional golfers du Québec. Arnold McLean Sr. was among the first professional masters in Canada, with his thesis outlining a number of recommendations for the game of golf. A man of vision, Arnold Sr. was among the first Canadian golf pros to found and manage his own club, and many of his fellow pros have followed in his footsteps.
