In 1960, Master Professional Arnold McLean Sr. envisioned an idyllic, all-natural golf course that would offer a fair challenge to any golfer. Choosing the developing town of Lorraine, Arnold Sr. designed his course with great diligence and care.

Arnold McLean Sr. won numerous Canadian tournaments during his illustrious career. He became a member of the Loyal Order of Golfing Legends and served as President of both the Professional Golfers Association of Canada and the Quebec Professional Golfers Association. Arnold McLean Sr. was among the first Master Professionals in Canada, with his thesis outlining a number of recommendations for the game of golf. A man of vision, Arnold Sr. was among the first Canadian golf pros to found and manage his own club, and many of his fellow Pros followed in his footsteps.
